Developed to mark the launch of The Connaught Cigar Merchants, each bottle of this exclusive series brings together the classic characteristics of the finest malt and grain Scotch whisky.
A limited run of 200 bottles produced from a 42-year-old cask and celebrated the subtle changes made by time and oak.
Appearance: Dark gold with reddish hues
Nose: An explosion of flavours. Complex aromas of dried autumn leaves, roots & earth and a mysterious resinous note emerge after 42 long years of maturation. Delightful fresh aromas of British cherry Bakewell tart mingle with orange peel, Cuban tobacco old leather and dandelions.
Palate: Still full of life despite the old age. A myriad of flavours ranging from potpourri and teak oil to dark cherries and brambles with a delicate smoky note of frankincense. Manuka honey, marzipan and exquisite pu-erh tea emerge before an exceptionally and surprisingly fresh finish on mangoes and peaches

At its heart, the Connaught Bar Gin is built upon the classics. Hand-crushed juniper berries, coriander seeds, liquorice, angelica and orris root are among the botanicals of this gin – with Moroccan mace introducing an aromatic aspect.
A novel blend
The lemon tones are derived from Amalfi citrus, added fresh in the final moments of distillation for optimum sweetness. Meanwhile, the gin owes its distinctive red wine character to an elegant Bordeaux from The Connaught cellar.

- 200ml tonic water
- 2 red grapes
Our interpretation of the perfect gin and tonic begins with a large cube of ice in a highball glass. Pour the gin directly onto the ice – followed by the tonic water – and drop in two red grapes to finish.
